What is
Operation Popcorn?
Operation Popcorn is an
ongoing effort to say THANKS to Troops currently deployed in
Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Iraq by sending them bags of popcorn... a
little taste of home. We hold campaigns per the need of Troops at
any given time, so keep watching for new updates! When we hear
there's a Unit or Battalion waiting, we jump into action and don't
stop until we have enough popcorn so that every soldier gets a bag
of their own!
Operation Popcorn is sponsored by the Mu Gamma Chapter of Kappa
Delta Phi Sorority, a 501 C(10) non-profit organization, as part of
their civic and community service.

How does it
work?
You are invited to participate by purchasing Red, White, or
Blue
poker chips. Write your name or city on one side of the chip and
THANKS on the other. We hang onto the chips until we've sold enough
to supply a Unit or Battalion with a full order of popcorn. Each chip is attached to a single bag of
popcorn when it's been freshly popped, and is immediately shipped to
waiting Troops. Soldiers can keep the chips as a reminder that
someone cares. Perhaps they will be carried in their pockets,
mounted in a scrapbook, or hung from a rear-view mirror as a
pleasant reminder that someone cared enough to say Thanks! We're
told they "boost Troop morale tenfold."
Why do we use red, white, and blue poker chips?
Poker chips don't get stale, and we want to send the freshest
popcorn possible, so we collect the chips until we have enough to
fill the need,
and then order the popcorn. The colors tell us what you've bought,
and each chip is attached to one bag. This method allows us to make
up the boxes we ship with freshly made gourmet popcorn every single
time! It's SO easy!
RED chips = Caramel, Cinnamon
WHITE chips = Gourmet White
BLUE chips = Yellow Cheddar, Jalapeno Cheddar, Kettle Korn
Where
can I buy the poker chips?
You may purchase poker chips online by selecting the Buy Popcorn
button on the left side of this screen.
If you would like to purchase poker chips by mail, please print the
order page and mail it with your check or money order to
Popcorn Country, 3914 E. Grant Road, Tucson, AZ
85712.
If you prefer to make a credit card purchase for poker chips over
the phone, please call Popcorn Country at 520-327-5117.
You may also buy poker chips at the Popcorn Country store in Tucson,
write your own message, and then drop them into the special
collection jar.
In any case, you're always able to specify what your message on the
poker chips will be!
Who gets the
popcorn?
We send popcorn to deployed units only. Units are selected on a
referral basis, and we try to reach as many units as possible. We
must have contact with a soldier (ranked SGT or above) who agrees to
distribute the popcorn to all of the soldiers in their
Unit/Battalion.
